The Universes Beyond: Fallout set releases on March 8, 2024 with a full set of Commander decks and Collector Booster products to make every loot goblin as happy as possible. This set has something for every fan of the Fallout series from the die-hard players of the isometric first games to the later FPS generation (especially that one friend that’s always telling you how New Vegas is actually the best game in the series). The set is filled with plenty of new commanders, notable reprints and spicy tech for those looking to go off at their local Commander night.
While the focus of this product line is bringing Fallout characters to the Commander table, we’re also receiving updates to a few mechanics. Rad counters are a new way to plague your opponents The Science! Commander deck brings new life to the energy mechanic introduced in the Kaladesh set, while Scrappy Survivors introduces a new artifact token that definitely won’t cause a meta-defining shift in Commander games.
Even if you’re just looking to pick up some powerful singles for the decks you’ve already built, there is plenty of legendary loot to unearth in this set. Whether you are looking for the newest best-in-slot upgrades or picking up all the decks to have a battle box with your friends, here are a few of the cards you’ll be looking to play with when Universes Beyond: Fallout releases.
- Bobbleheads
Though not “one card,” most fans are going to want to collect the whole set of Bobbleheads. In the Fallout video games, these Bobbleheads are the physical representation of Vault Boy, a character created by Vault-Tec that represents all the stats, skills and perks in the Fallout universe. During character creation, you’ll meet Vault Boy when deciding the stats for your character and you can find these versions of Vault Boy hiding out in the world as collectible bobbleheads that give you an increase in the stat they represent.
In card-form, they are all three-mana artifacts that tap for any color and have an additional effect that mimics their represented stat in Fallout and scales when you have more bobbleheads in play. While each effect is fairly potent with the right amount of Bobbleheads, the Luck Bobblehead stands out with its extra win condition if you can roll a six on a six-sided die exactly six times. The goal is to have each bobblehead in play to roll seven dice, but with cards like Court of Vantress, Saheeli, the Gifted or Mechanized Production to create additional copies of bobbleheads, your odds increase.
The bobbleheads are available in normal, surge foil and serialized printings for those that really want to bling out their decks.
