One of the top presold cards from The Lost Caverns of Ixalan thus far is Ojer Taq, Deepest Foundation, a card that will see incredible attention upon release as it’s the first-ever Magic card to come with a passive ability to triple the number of tokens created. While White has various ways to duplicate token generation in Anointed Procession and Mondrak, Glory Dominus, Ojer Taq takes it one further with an incredible approach to tripling any token created under your control.
While six mana is quite a lot, the payoff is more than enough for casual Commander players to notice and incorporate into existing lists. Commanders such as Jetmir, Nexus of Revels, Rhys the Redeemed, and even the more recent Brenard, Ginger Sculptor will certainly be interested in the new God that dwells on Ixalan. Furthermore, the effects that Ojer Taq provides will become desirable the further we move away from The Lost Caverns of Ixalan, coupled with the unique Ixalan naming convention, this will be a tricky card to reprint casually in future Magic releases, meaning this is a fantastic card to snap up on release day. I’ll be honest, Ojer Taq, Deepest Foundation is one of the safest cards you can buy on release day, and it isn’t remotely close.
