The 10 Cards Everybody Wants From The Lost Caverns of Ixalan – #6 Chimil, the Inner Sun (Treasure Trove)

If there’s one thing Commander players absolutely love, it’s casting a splashy Mythic spell that creates chaotic gameplay and takes them down a path to victory. Chimil, the Inner Sun looks to be one of those cards, and one that Commander players will be hoping to open in Lost Caverns of Ixalan Draft, Set and Collector Boosters. Discover is a new keyword for Lost Caverns of Ixalan, where you exile cards from the top of your library until you exile a nonland card with mana value X or less (X being five, in this case with Chimil). You may cast it without paying its mana cost, and if you don’t, you put the card into your hand. Then, you put the exiled cards on the bottom in a random order. With Chimil, the Inner Sun, you Discover at the beginning of your end step, so let the chaos ensue!
Oh, and there’s an extra ability of all your spells being uncounterable, which I guess is also pretty decent. Cards such as Chimil, the Inner Sun can slot into any Commander build, as the effects are generic and strong enough to matter regardless of the strategy. However, Borderless copies appear as one of the many Treasure Trove Box-Toppers you can open when you purchase any Lost Caverns of Ixalan Booster Box. There are some really desirable cards as these Box-Toppers, such as Chalice of the Void and Amulet of Vigor, which see plenty of eternal play. However, there will be a sub-set of Commander players that will want to open the Borderless variant of Chimil as their Box Topper, because well, just look at it!
