Generally speaking, Syr Ginger is a flexible option for any color that could very well see play in Standard’s Mono-White or Mono-Red Aggro, especially if there are enough Planeswalkers around to trigger the trample, hexproof, and protection clause. Syr Ginger is also an excellent option for any strategy that utilizes Food, Clues, Blood, or Treasure tokens, as sacrificing these will only make the Legendary Food Knight stronger throughout a game. With The Lost Caverns of Ixalan likely re-introducing Treasure tokens (based on the reveal of Breeches, Eager Pillager), Syr Ginger could be an excellent addition if you are looking to bolster your Standard collection with the return of Ixalan on the horizon.
